Preston Hollow, Lakewood, and the M Streets are full of 1930s-50s prewar Tudors and craftsmans — beautiful homes with original plaster walls, historic windows, and ductwork that was retrofitted into attics and closets decades after the house was built. Dropping a modern 4-ton variable-speed system into a Preston Hollow Tudor without addressing the undersized ducts and return air path is a classic box-shop mistake. Every replacement we do in these neighborhoods starts with a Manual J load calculation and a serious look at whether the ducts can actually deliver the airflow the new equipment needs.
